how to get horse in shape and faster?

how do i get my horse to move a little faster doing dash for cash right now i am 10 seconds i would like to go down to 9 seconds but idk how...... also how do i get mucscle on him he is pritty fit right now but that is from trailrides every day how do i keep it on him all winter??? thank you

    If you own a walker jog him daily for 15 minutes giving him one or two days off a week but not in a row. Also the more electrolytes and vitamins he gets the healthier he will be. If you do not own a walker lope him in a arena for 20 min then walk him for 10 then do another 20 min lope... he will be moody at you for a few days then move on. Hay is gonna be his best friend and he might now want to eat as much grain for a week or 2

    If you have an indoor arena or can go to someone else's then you can still work him all winter unless it's too cold. Take him on long walks every day. (several miles) Do you have a dirt road near you?? You could just gallop him down that once or twice a week also. I'm having the same problem with getting my horse to go fast. :) Mine does go faster if I just carry a crop while I ride (but don't use it). :) I hope this is helpful. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

    to build neck muscle i saw in a video were a trainer put her horse against a wall and on the other side she would stand with a carrot and make her house bend it's neck as far as it would go to get the carrot. used it on my horse once and liked it, it loosened her up a bit.

    Pace him each day and train him. If you consistently train him, he'll eventually get to where you need him to be. Hope I helped!
