Why are east coast to west coast flights going so fast tonight?
Flights from the east coast to PDX are normally about six hours. Tonight, all of them are arriving an hour or so early. Why is that?

either the jet stream is moving slower than normal tonight, or that because many of the flights in midwest are cancelled for weather, the airspace is clearer and they can give better routing

there could be a handful of reasons. the top three would probably be; 1=clear weather 2=faster jet than large airliners 3=jet streams (powerful streams of air way up high)
