can someone please explain me why do mayweather want a blood test?

there is this WADA prohibited list, that contains about more than a thousand illegal enhancers.

now, to measure all of them, you need both urine and blood. USADA has testing protocols for both urine and blood samples.

for example:

steroids can be measured from urine.

HGH is said to be only measurable from blood.

the nevada state athletic commission already has an existing protocol for professional boxers to be tested for illegal enhancers from urine samples. blood samples are used for the presence of indicators for diseases (e.g., HIV). you don't want to watch boxers fight and be sprayed by blood from the front rows. or as referee be infected by the fighters with hepatitis or any other infectious disease.

mayweather is insisting on utilizing the USADA protocol because it takes 3 blood samples randomly, until the day of the contest itself. and pacquiao is freaked out by blood. that's why he requests to instead donate samples but not within 48 hours before the fight or during the fight.

since the USADA would not change its protocol (i.e., random sampling until the day of the fight)-- it was suggested to use the NFL (and other major league professional sports protocols) as alternative because they could bend their rules for paccquiao's request.

so, pacquiao is OK with giving blood, random even, except close the fight.

but the mayweathers would only like to use USADA. which is insane because pacquiao even offered to give samples more than 3 times. and he will donate urine as much as the mayweather camp would like to have.

note that the USADA protocol is outside the ordinary. professional boxing already has its protocols in nevada where they will fight.

that's why it is easier to believe that floyd is avoiding the fight rather than pacquiao is actually using illegal enhancers.

insisting on USADA protocols is really unreasonable because there are alternatives that are just as competent and is already used in testing professional sportsmen.

perhaps in the future it can be adopted by boxing but right now for this specific fight? why jeopardize it by insisting on this single protocol when the mayweathers can have even better opportunity to test pacquiao by insisting on more blood samples. pacquiao only asked to have time to recover (mentally or physically).

pacquiao will not be able to cheat-- blood samples taken immediately after the fight at the locker room will show what was used during the fight and the day before or so. and he will definitely be tested for steroids throughout training and for the fight.

HGH and steroids are usually used off season during training to build muscles. you don't use it for one day to cheat. in fact, USADA protocol is more effective during off season as much as it is during training. illegal enhancers are not like spinach for popeye that will work immediately. HGH is artificial human growth hormone, which is associated for bone and muscle growth and stamina.

Pacquiao Blood Test

Urine can't detect HGH or EPO or other designer steroid types, and scheduled tests don't work because the offending user can just cycle off before the test than cycle back on after the test, it would be like the cops calling the bad guys hideout and telling them that they are coming in a week but they should stay there, it doesn't work with anyone outside of complete retards. Also Freddy Roach has a history of having fighters doing steroids with James Toney.

It is called HARASSMENT and the Mayweathers' want to dictate the tempo of prefight. But with Top Rank's compromise about the blood test which was turned down by the Mayweathers' and GBoy Promotions, the fight is in jeopardy. With all these excuses from them...
