does my cockatiel trust me or not?

i have this cockatiel that i found/rescued outside during a really rainy day.at first she was completely terrified of me,if i would just put my hand in the cage she would freak out and crawl around .everyday i tried to let her know that i dint mean any harm by leaving one hand inside the cage for a while.i also tried hand feeding(seeds) her but she would not eat from my hands.its been almost two months and now i leave the cage door open and she crawls up to the top of her cage.ill be on my laptop and she'll jump on my bed and walk over to me and just stare at me or shell walk over to me and then turn her back on me and just sit there with her back turned :( (on rare occasions she's hopped on me and crawled up to my shoulder,sometimes shell play with the rubber band on my left wrist,she LOVES that.) but if i try to pet her or make any sudden movements shell fly back to her cage immediately.iv successfully hand fed her outside her cage but at this point i just don't know whether she likes me or not,im confused :( i mean she seems interested/curious of me but shes also afraid at the same time.my question basically is,does she just need more time with me in order to trust me?

    You should start trying to hand tame her.

    You have no idea where/what she came from. She could have been abused, or she may have not ever been a pet and doesn't understand what you want.

    Once you teach her how to step up; the rest will be easy.

    Sit by her cage everyday until she's 100% okay with you approaching her cage and sitting down next to her, and she doesn't tense up at all. Talk to her, sing to her. Just interact with her in an harmless, gentle way. Don't make any sudden movements, don't try anything too quickly, because if you try a step too early, you'll have to start back at the beginning.

    She will get bored of your attempts, so keep them short.

    After she's used to you approaching and sitting next to her cage, try to open the cage VERY slowly. If she freaks out from you opening the cage; walk away for 10-15 minutes and come back and try again. Walk up to the cage slowly, talk to her, tell her she's a good girl. Maybe even tempt her with millet. Hold it up so she keeps her attention on that while you're opening the cage door.

    Once she's okay with you opening the door, she needs to be okay with you putting your hand inside. Again; slow movement, talk to her. If she freaks out, stop trying. Try again later.

    Eventually when she's okay with everything; use your finger. Point it to her slowly, get closer and closer, and when you're near her legs, tell her "step up" in a firm, yet soft tone.

    Praise her with every step she does correctly. Whether it be with kind words, or with some millet.

    The number one thing is to not get angry. They know when you're angry, trust me!

    Sounds so cute to jump and walk to you and playing with your rubber band, anyway, at first you started a very wrong thing to put your hand inside the cage this way your bird will freak out more.

    Now all you need is to give him some treats, and then try to touch his beak. How to do that, at first make sure that your bird is in his favorite place and make sure that he sees you, raise your finger in front of him but not too close, make sure that he sees your finger, let it there for 2-5 sec. and then take it back down, do that again after 3 sec. and this time get a little closer then before, do that and get closer every time, at end you will reach to close to his beak but not touch it yet, when you are at this point make "one mm close to his beak" make it twice and then touch his beak, this training should take less then 5 mnts.

    This way you will be able to touch his beak every time you want to but not petting him yet, to pet him you can give him some treats when you are touching his beak and by "mistake" for the bird touch the feather next to his beak, and see if that will surprise him or not, if not do that again and touch more feathers, and if not see if he will let you rub his head. Raise his and if just raise his head too and seems to bite you take your hand down again, thats means he doesn't want to be pet.

    Hope this will help you.

    to start with all the different solutions are terrific , the hyperlinks are good and dont use a towel . circulate the birds cage into your mattress room at nighttime, Birds do now not sleep with predators at nighttime and he's conscious it . shop the chook close to you in any respect situations possible and in simple terms communicate over with the chook. enable the chook come out of its cage with the help of itself. Feed millet by the cage with the help of hand one berry clump at a time . you could finally end up preserving a bite of millet for an hour at first yet after a whilst he will study . Play with your different cockatiel and feed it with the help of hand precise in front of the white face . i'm guessing your white face grew to become into discern raised . so all of this could take time . I mean no offence as quickly as I say that it seems such as you have been doing not something to construct up have confidence up so far . have confidence is earned , not given or created

    hello; I would make sure the cocktail is eating what is known as

    Fortified Feed or fortified seeds;

    This means the seed mix is "fortified with Vitamins and Minerals;

    this helps the birds senses to be healthy and good; improves mood;

    actually improves learning and MEMORY; Birds have to have Vitamins;

    you could also add fruit and other fresh greens for vits. and mins.
