i really need some help with my ipod, someone pleaseee help me?

my computer reads my new ipod touch as camera/scanner w.e. my itunes states, :the ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. use the itunes installer to uninstall itunes, then install itunes again." ive done this seven times. it jsut wont work :( online all i can find is solutions for vista when i have XP :( and also a bunch of people complaining about the same problem. can anyone help me please? :(

but HOW DO I FIX IT!?!?!? no offense but what the problem is doesnt really matter to me i just would like to know how to fix it :(

    i had the same issue and i was told it wasnt compatible with my computer, which doesnt make any since. i actually took it back and exchanged it for a slightly different model and it worked fine.

    The itunes installer is the problem, the problem is not itunes
