Should I buy Sims 2 expansions or Sims 3?

the sims 3 is a good game but when i got my computer didnt have the system requirements. so if ur computer has the system requriments to play the sims 3 get it but if it doesn't get the expansion packs

Sims 3 is pretty much new so you cannot judge it just because it has only 3 expansion packs so far. And Pets will probably eventually come, whether it will be part of an expansion or an expansion itself, I just cannot imaging EA omitting pets in Sims' lives. I have Sims 2 with all expansions and stuff packs and over 40000 downloads and as much as sometimes I miss the custom contents from the Sims 2, Sims 3 is still way better. It is a huge step from Sims 2. More glitches in Sims 3 than Sims 2... lol, EA has never come up with a single Sims game that was not buggy. Actually I think the only one that did not have any bugs was the Sims original. Things that we wanted in Sims 2 they brought it in Sims 3 and we have to patient with the expansion like we were with Sims 2 expansion packs, they did not come out all at once.

If I were you I would get Sims 3. But berfore you go off to buy it, check the system requirements on the official website to see if you can handle it. If you cant but can run Sims 2, then get Sims 2.

I think they should have released it with all expansion or most for the same price as Sims 3.

Personally, I think you are better off buying Sims 2 expansion packs - their cheaper and most likely the same things will be out again on Sims 3 but even more expensive.

Also, what if your computer can't run Sims 3 - it's a problem a lot of people have been having or they feel like they wasted $50 for something they felt that wasn't even necessary any way.

[But the same thing could be said when Sims 2 first came out.]

So it's your choice - if you like 'fresh' looking graphics go for 3; if you like a bit more realism/craziness go for 2.

(On that note - see if you have a friend whose game you can play round theirs or check Amazon for some reviews).
