This Depicts the Facets of the Holy Ghost. For the Holy Spirit is as multifaceted as God and Jesus

Rev 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Rev 4:6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

Rev 4:7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Okay, I am a Christian, but I do NOT believe that God, Jesus and the holy spirit are one and the same being. I acknowledge that it is possible, especially when you start getting into the behavior of sub-atomic particles and energy, but through a lot of study and prayer, it's never been revealed to me as the truth..

That said, I think the Holy Spirit or ghost is just the energy, the power, that God uses to accomplish His will. I think He sends his force out to touch each of us as He needs/we need. I have felt the comfort, the guidance, the protection of the spirit. In that sense, it would be part of Him, but I don't consider it a separate being as many do.

But I hope you get other well-thought out answers and do your own research so you can derive your own viewpoint. Just don't accept that, because conventional Christianity says God, Jesus and the Spirit are one and the same being, that makes it true.

Search and pray for the truth on your own.

I've always considered the holy ghost/spirit to be the christian deity's active force and not an actual entity. I view it that way because people talk about being "filled with the holy spirit" and you can't exactly be "filled" with another person, only qualities and/or energies associated with that person. Then again, I'm not a christian, so their interpretations may be quite different. I can assure you they will also vary greatly depending on denomination/sect of christianity.

    The Father is our Creator.

    the Son is our Savior.

the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit is our Counselor, Advocate. He guides the Catholic Church. He guides you through your prayer life, thru reading the Word of God, etc.

"...in the unity of the Godhead there are Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another... 'the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God.'...'the Father has never been without the Son, nor the Son without the Spirit: and this same Trinity is immutable and unalterable forever.'"

We have a soul. We have a body. We have a spirit. We are created in God's image.

Our soul is who we are inside. Our body gives our soul a face. Our spirit helps others know our soul and helps them remember us.

It is not that hard to understand.
