PATH is cheapest and you can get from Newark Penn STation.

Or NJ TRansit cost more but is faster. 15 minss from Newark Penn Station.

But not as often as PATH.

Also from Robert Treat, there is Broad St Station just a few blocks from the hotel.

There you can get a train from Broad ST. to SEcaucus and direc to NY Penn Station again.

If youy go to njtransit.com they have a schedule of trains and the prices for your trip.

You can get a 10 trip ticket and save a few bucks.

First the Robert Treat Hotel is not in a good neighborhood in Newark. And a shooting occurred IN the hotel this February. While it used to be a very good hotel in its day, it has seen its better days.

PATH is the cheaper option for commuting from Newark Penn Station into New York. The fare is $1.75 each way. A 10 trip card is $13. And an unlimited 7-day card is $18. Plus no matter what you choose, you will need separate fare for the New York subway system.

NJ Transit trains come less often and more expensive.

The PATH train is cheap. The fare is only $1.75 each way ($3.50 round trip). You can purchase a 7 day unlimited ride SmartLink card for $18 at Newark Penn Station. The 1-day unlimited ride SmartLink card, for the remaining four days you're in town, will cost you $6 a day.

Once in city, you can purchase a weekly unlimited ride MetroCard for use on the subway and bus system in New York City (Please note the SmartLink card is not compatible with the NYC public transit system). The 7-day unlimited ride card cost $27, while the 1-day unlimited ride MetroCard will cost $8.25 a day.

I hope this information is very helpful.

    Good luck and Happy Holidays

PATH is cheaper and only about 5 or 10 minutes longer. It has the advantage of taking MetroCards, the same as the Subway here in the city. The trains to 33rd St, leave you off right in Herald Sq. on 6th AVE one block from Penn Station (7th AVE).

Take the PATH, they run all the time, whereas you have to be at Penn Station at a specific time, plus you have to pay more. You can get an unlimited pass on the PATH trains also.

Take the PATH to WTC. Exit the station, turn right, head up to Church St. Get on either the R or W going uptown. It's 2 or 3 stops to Canal Street. Walk East on Canal (if the cars on Broadway are coming toward you, East is right). Welcome to Chinatown. The middle is around Mott St.

Definately the Path trains will take you right to the center of NYC
