Problems making a cd on Vista?

Everytime I try to make a music cd, it will not play in my cd players. I have a Vista, and when i put the disc in it seems to treat it like a file cd (it dosnt show minutes remaining on cd, but says 600mb remaining). What can/should I do?

Update:

I use Audio Cds and Windows Media Player to make the cds

If you are using a software to create music CD's, you're in serious trouble. Make sure your burning an AUDIO CD not a DATA CD. For newbies, I rather use my built-in music player, like the Windows Media Player.
