why would a wealthy Nigerian from a rich heritage go into terrorism?

Hell he tried to set fire to an incendiary device, a very crude one, to his own leg, put a match to it and nearly burnt his own leg off . His mental state should be looked into and meanwhile held in a secure mental institution

The guys in England who attacked the airports a few years ago - they were engineers or engineering students. The 9/11 guys weren't poor and downtrodden either. All these theories that these people were forced to behave this way was because of poverty, etc. are just to cover up the underlining reason that motivates them to behave the way they do.

I disagree that the problem is religion. No religion promotes violence including Islam. I've read a lot of Islamic literature (other religions too) and I've concluded that the problem is generally brainwashing by the higher ups in terrorist organizations. They are the ones who convince previously stable individuals to resort to violence. In Islam there is absolutely no reward for violence against civilians. We could also relate the brainwashing concept to more common instances within our society. Things such as drug use and gang violance are further examples of brainwashing. Drug dealers and gang leaders understand how to take advantage of others.

In this instance however, it may have been merely a crazed person. The Fort Hood shooter is also a similar example where there is no apparent terrorist connection. Whenever a Muslim acts it gets headline news and they are described as "terrorists", frankly there are many more examples of terrorist acts by non muslims than Muslims. Are the acts of robbery, rape, or murder not examples of terrorism?

If you check into things you will see that most of your high profile terrorists have been well educated and come from somewhat successful families. All of the 911 hijackers for instance, they all had college educations and could have held high paying careers anywhere.

Its all about religion to these people. They are doing it in the name of their religion. It is not politically correct for Americans to say that, the media wont say it and our politicians wont say it. But you can ask any one of these terrorists, they will tell you they are at war with America in the name of Islam.

Osama bin Laden was a wealthy man too. Karl Marx was independently wealthy. Obama was a millionaire before he set out to destroy America. George Soros is a billionaire and is always trying to destroy America.

I guess rich people hate America. Probably because America gives EVERYONE the opportunity to be rich. Rich people want to be elites and don't like other people joining the club.

Beliefs. Islamic terrorists do it for their religion. For Jihad the holy war. It has nothing to do with economics. They learn it in mosque. They do it to become heroes to their cause.

this is a clear cut case where the arguments that these guys are attacking because they are poor is just bullshit. many of these terrorists are not poor at all. they are simply evil. putting this guy into a nut-house won't do it. he needs to be executed. give him the chair and cook him extra crispy!!
