Buy the tampons with the inserter. Trust me, for a first time, it'll help a lot.

This will be in a big box, not a small one. (means you don't have to stick your finger up there)

There will be a leaflet explaining how to insert it.

    I will also add,

It is easier to have a foot on the toilet seat, spread, to insert the tampon. Or bend the knees while standing.

If when you insert it, it is uncomfortable and hurting you, you haven't put it in far enough. Push it in as far as you can (if you don't, when you sit down, it will really hurt)

Depends on how heavy your flow is, but it is always best to try normal size. Go with a popular brand - not the coloured ones. If you are really heavy, I'd say a high absorbent one .. but, your period shouldn't get too heavy when you are in the water. (When I have a bath, my period stops)

I highly advise you to practice with them before hand. To practice, you may need lube.. but when on your period, you should be perfectly fine.

Remember, you have to change them often (For your first time, every 1-3 hours)

    good luck!

Ask your mother or Auntie or just buy a box [ regular or mini should do you] The instructions are on a leaflet inside. It's pretty easy but might need a bit of practice so have some vaseline handy to lubricate if necessary. If you're going swimming, don't wear a white costume just in case!
