My computer is stuck in a restarting loop.. kinda.. thing?

I try to start my Compaq computer,

It starts up like normal, word compaq appearing, but then it says

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware change might have caused this"

I have tried all five options listed,

Safe mode,

Safe mode with networking

Safe mode with command prompt,

Last known good configuration

Start windows normally

I click on the options, and the window's logo pops up, the blue bar goes through the tube a number of times, but then stops. the screen flashes blue with numbers s and letters that go by too fast for me to read. so i cannot put any detail there.

I have not made any hardware changes, but my plug for where i stick the charger is a bit work, and occasionally falls out. I think that has something to do with this.

Is there any way i can fix this problem without having to take it to the repair shop? this has happened before and my dad was pretty pissed. if i go to him now with the sam problem, i know im going to get it handed to me.

Update:

I cannot get into the actual desktop so i cannot get into the internet or any other thing. I really don't want to lose all my save data because my itunes libary is made up of mostly purchased songs. I also have Flight simulator which i no longer have the disk for and i dont want to lose that either. losing this data isn't going to bode well for me.

Update 2:

Safe mode does not work for me. No options do. can i change anything to get me into the computer's files long enough to find out whats happening?

You can stop the automatic restart this way:

    1. When the machine starts the boot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

    2. A text screen will come up. Click the Disable automatic restart on System failure entry.

    3. When you boot again, the Blue Screen should stay up for you to read rather than reboot itself.

That should give you a chance to record more off the Blue Screen.

    Hope that helps.

maybe do a search engine search on a command called

    fixmbr

which fixes the master boot record

I had a similiar case at work. An old laptop with a similiar issues and they gave me the laptop and I took it home and at an hour of using a digital camera to take a snapshot of the blue screen of death (BSOD) I finally captured a picture of the error message and the fixmbr worked

also, slim chance but the RAM/CPU may have to be reseated

but you need to be a geek to figure it out without ruining your machine

and that is a very slim chance because I do not believe you could reach those five options

actually, it is 6am on a sunday my time, still sobering up, forget that reseating bit

I assume you tried safe mode and it didn't work?

In those situations the only thing you can really do is reinstall Windows using the recovery discs that came with the laptop. If it still doesn't work, then it is a hardware problem and you have to get the machine repaired.

if your computer doesn't shutdown properly it goes to Safe mode menu at the boot up. You should fix/replace the charger. It is bad for your hard disk to lose power while it is writing - you'll end up with bad sectors and corrupted files.

"Restart Problem" can be caused by a fault in de OS. u can solve it like this:

start>controle panel>system>properties>advanced>startup- recovery configuration> system faults> computer starts automatic op new [UNCHECK THIS]

unless there is a major problem with the registry, this is worth the try!

It might be that you have a "baby" virus. It makes your computer restart in a loop. Take it to a reseller.
