If love is blind, why do so many black men go for white women?

some black guy told me last year that 90% of black men would stop going for white women if white women stopped putting out. anyways, he says black guys always end up going to black chicks. so that can explain it, maybe easy lay.

I have no idea. They have been brainwashed to think White is better. That all black women are ghetto, and uneducated. Look at a couple answers here. Someone said because they don't want a trina, or jackie o. There is a stereotype of black females, even though more black females go to college than black men black females are the ones always being put down. Some people will say whatever they are in love, but how do these people know that. They say that about every question that deals with this subject. Love is not as color blind as people make it out to be. A lot of people aren't going to admit that they are dating someone based on race, but a lot of times they are. Where I live about 95% of the couples are black man white female. I don't believe that all 95% just happened to hook up in the same pairing because of being colorblind. Now there are people out there who really do fall in love with the person and not the race, but they are few and far between. People just don't want to admit that they are practicing discrimination.

It's mathematics, if you are white in this country you have more chance to go in a white school and see white people so more chance to date and fall in love with the white .

If the white people would have more black friend than white they would have more chance to date a black .

It's not in Oregon ,west Texas, Nebraska etc.. where you have the more chance to date with a black .

I'm just taking a random poke in the dirt, maybe it's because they like men, primarily men of color? And personally I know some white women who despise black men and only date white men, so this argument boils down to what the individual woman likes in her man. She could like a black man because she loves him, is attracted to him sexually, is her only option, he is rich (regardless of race alot women LOVE rich dudes) and the list goes on.

Why dont you go find yourself some love, you sound lonely. Otherwise why do you care?

I think the answer to both is attraction but I think you exaggerated when you said 'so many black men'

Because they only see what (white) society has portrayed as being successful, and if you are a black male, the only time you are considered half way decent in their eyes is if someone of their own kind (white) has committed themselves to them (blacks) in the most intimate way.

I'm sure my comment will go over the heads of a lot of YA members, but I'm sure there will be a few who gets it.

You could say the same for all those white women dating black men but you're being an abominably redneck hillbilly snow man right now, you see.

I think there are many things to look at in this question...

1) This question generalizes...because I am black and of my inner circle...my wife is white, my one friend's fiancee is Puerto Rican, my one friend's girlfriend is black, and my one friend is a player and all his girls are white. I would like to add my first wife was black.

2) If you are talking about successful professional black men, their world may be predominantly white and there options may be predominantly white. So the people they meet and have an oppertunity to fall inlove with my be mostly white women.

3) Maybe white women find them attractive. For me , I know I initially dated black and hispanic women, not that I wasn't attracted to white women but being 38, I grew up when interracial relationships e still considered taboo. My few attempts to cross that line were harshly rejected due to race.

4) Eldridge Cleaver in "Soul on Ice" talks about black men and white women and he talks about how we have a shared history. The black freedom struggle and women sufferage walked hand and hand. In the earliest time in America we were both considered white men's property. Blacks and slaves...white women as spouses who had no right to vote or own property. We know a similar experience.

That is true but not all black men are like that, i think those kind of men have low self steam, but the are some black men successful that have a african american wife like Shaquille o'neal, Will Smith, etc...
