My cat weighs to much....?

My cat is like 15 pounds and im concerned because i feel like this could affect her as she continues to get older. Will she get sick if she stays to fat as she gets older?

Im only 14 so i dont know these things?

Each cat is different. If you're cat is a larger breed, then she's going to weigh more. I've seen cats weigh in at over twenty pounds, before. Cats usually know when they're full, and will walk away from the bowl. If you're concerned, then feeding your cat a little less is acceptable. You can tell if she's still hungry, as she'll bother you, or linger at the bowl and meow. Trial and error is your best bet, when it comes to food.

    Good luck! :)

you could put her on a diet, it depends if you think you feed your cat more than normal, or if she eats 24/7 or stays at her bowl for a very long time to finish a whole bowl of dry food.

A diet would be like giving her less food or only letting her eat the food for a certain amount of time (1- 3 minuites)

she could get diabetes if she eats too much, and a cat with diabetes is no fun :(

Sometimes putting a cat on a diet can be very difficult. I would try giving less food and then putting it out of reach after it eats. Cats can develop diabetes if they become overweight.

Source(s): Have three cats and one that weighs 20lb and is diabetic. Having a tough time helping him to loss weight. Should never allowed him to get this way in the first place.

ration her food, but not so drasticly. dont give her treats just for the sake of it. cats can get diabetic!

play with her until she falls asleep =)
