How to dress cute for a short winter vacation?

Question

I'm going to New York City for 4 days in the beginning of January.  I'm from South Florida, therefore, I have no idea what to wear!  Does anyone have any ideas how to dress for the time that i'm there?  I know layering and big coats, but I still want to look cute!  Please if you have any ideas, even accessories-wise such as scarves and hats, let me know?
