Both of these people are owed a rematch. What it comes down to is probably a triple threat or match to determine who gets the reamtch.

That's what happened when Jeff Hardy beat Edge and Extreme rules for the tittle then Punk cashed in his money in the bank and won the tittle. Jeff and Edge had a match to determine the no.1 contender, the match ended in a draw so they had a triple threat match.

the only time I see stars no longer ask for his or her rematch clause is whilst they have been heavily injured. Jericho and Cena ask for theirs because of the fact they know a thank you to guard themselves greater perfect whilst they're working. I even have seen rematches with Batista, Rey Meysterio, edge, Orton, and countless others. I even have additionally heard countless court docket circumstances because of the fact they don't get to sign their rematch clause (frequently after MITB has been cashed in.)
