what to wear for rain in nyc?
dad says rain is in the forecast...mom was thinking wool coat but put poncho overneath, so wouldn't have to buy whole new jacket etc? and for pants, no cotton or denim/but waterproof pants? what about underneath the pants? would tights/leggings work or would i need a more moisture wicking material please...thanks

NYC rain is identical to rain anywhere else.
It may be colder, depending on where you are now,
but it doesn't rain any more or less than anywhere else.
Layers underneath the pants will help against a cold wind just like layers under a coat.
