At what temp do you take a baby to the ER?

Lets say a 1 year old.

Also at what temp should you take yourself to the ER?

And what is more accurate forehead or ear temp?

My forehead is 100 my ear is 102.2 should i worry?

    If her temp is 104 or higher and not going down with medication.

    Same with me temp wise.

    Forehead and ear are the same really. You usually need to add about a degree to each as mouth or rectal are most accurate.

    Baby: 103 degrees and not going down with tylenol/motrin and cold bath - lower if something is just off, rely on your mom gut.

    Myself: 102-103 degrees not going down with medication, lower if I have an underlying health condition or feel really sick

    I am not sure what is more accurate - rectal is most so that is what we do for the LO.

  • 100.00 for a one year old...

    103.00 for an adult.

    I work in the ER and this is what our standards go by.

    And do both the forehead & the ear temps & go by the HIGHER of the two...you always want to treat a situation worse then it is rather then treating it less then what it is.
