is it possible to lose inches and not any fat at all?
I have been working out at least 3-5 times a week, haven't changed my eating habits much just cut down on portion sizes, but i started this months ago, nothing was happening so i joined curves and started making it more regular that's when i started going 3-5 times a week, anyway i started curves on 9-11-09 and every month i lost inches, the first month i lost 8 inches, and since then a total of 2 each month but i have gained weight, i started at 158 and am now 164, its crazy, i'm wondering whats wrong, could there be something wrong with me or is this normal? its driving me crazy, any advice would be appreciated too please.
i am 5 ft 4 in and want to get down to at least 135 by summer. Diet and nutrition advice would be appreciated as well

There is nothing wrong! You're actually gaining muscle. It's more dense than fat, so your measurements are shrinking but you are gaining weight. This is a really, really good thing.
Instead of tracking your progress via the scale, measure your body fat percentage instead. Don't make it a goal to weigh 135, just make it a goal to fit into size 6 jeans or something similar. Take those size measurements and make them your goal measurements. Watch as you drive down your body fat percentage, which is a more accurate measure of health than weight is, since weight involves water, muscle, and fat.

Caro is right, your electrical resistance must be decreased, and that is the basis beyond the % of fat machine.
However, it is too late to make such measurements (since you have not done at the beginning), but you can monitor it since you read Caro's and this answer reply!
