What really makes an answer get reported?

Yahoo compares trusted reporter(I'll refer to it as TR) status, or simply put, their trust level on yahoo answers.

ALL users have their own unique TR status. Every user starts out with a very low TR, and as you report users accurately, your TR status rises. If you report things that are not violations or you yourself get violations, your trust level decreases.

Now, how does a question or answer get removed? When a report is made, yahoo (automatically) compares the trust level between members. If the person doing the reporting has a high enough trust level and the person being reported has a low trust level, the question/answer is removed.

If it is the other way around, and the person reporting has a low trust level and the person being reported has a high trust level, the question/answer will not be removed. It will take additional users to report the question/answer for it to be removed.

Yes, answers that aren't offensive are unfortunately reported as often. It seems that trolls like to report the answers that barely break the rules like chatting. Meanwhile, the hateful, offensive stuff remains.

I would ONLY appeal if you are sure that it isn't a violation. I have had some experiences where I believe the appeals process is automated. I think you should first appeal. If it is denied, email the yahoo answers team.

I reported an answer this morning, it replace into indoors the marriage section some guy beating his companion for no longer making dinner on time. Questions like those or if all people says they're harming infants i bypass to record, yet each little component else i does no longer record.

Some times some kind of people doing like this...

Reporting our question to Yahoo. And Yahoo deletes our Question...

Please check your Yahoo mail Inbox.....

You will have a mail about the deletion of your Question.... ( Violation Notice ).....

But Yahoo gives a appeal link in that mail....

If u feels that your Question doesn't violate the community and reported as wrongly..

Then please click that appeal link....

If Yahoo accepts your appeal... your question will be reposted.... If not.... you will lose 10 points...

Read the community guideliness ones.....

Then ask appeal......

But Reasonable appeal will approve surely.....

I got my Questions back 3 times......

And also Yahoo will treat that reported people as Wrong Reporters.... And the Wrong Reporters will get less influence in future....

Its all subjective. Yahoo Answers relies on the readers.

You just got unlucky to have a responsible or paranoid (depending on your awnser) person come along. Or the asker was offended.

You can tell WHO is reporting for they are the ones that post all the rules and links when answering your question. They also have the highest scores on from trolling 24/7 and answering questions such as yours.
