Well, one that Nintendo is really pushing is The Legend of Zelda, Spirit Tracks. If you played Phantom Hourglass, the gameplay is pretty much the same, except instead of a ship, Link is now running a train. A cool feature about this game is your partner. Instead of having some annoying fairy follow you around, Zelda herself follows you on your epic quest to save Hyrule.

One of my all time favorites for DS is Metroid Prime Hunters. Although, I confess, it isn't from 2009, but seriously, buy it. This game is amazing. It is a very well constructed FPS (First Person Shooter) from Nintendo. You play as the bounty hunter Samus, on a mission to investigate a mysterious transmission from the tetra galaxy. The games most notable feature, however, is the wifi. Using Nintendo Wifi Connection, you can play with hunters around the world, and hone your skills in real time battles with anyone you can possibly imagine! (who has the game of course :P)

Another good one from '09 is Pokemon Platinum. This cute and fun RPG combines strategy, luck, and cute (or tough) creatures that you can catch and train as your own. Battle countless other trainers in your quest to become the best pokemon trainer in the world! I've been quite indulged with this game for a few months now. If you have a DS lite or original (not DSi) You can also link older generation Pokemon games to Platinum (or Diamond or Pearl for that matter) using the advance cartridge slot on the bottom, and transfer your favorite pokemon from one game to the other. Loads of fun and worth the money too. Keeps you entertained for hours on end. (If you're like me anyways)

If you're into the Guitar Hero Saga, Band Hero is on the DS with a guitar, bass, drums, and a mic! Drag on the touch screen to strum your guitar, slip on the drum pads to experience drumming, and us the DS's built in microphone to show the world what you're made of and unleash your inner rock star!

Hope this gets you started! If you want more info, just ask in a comment! I'll be glad to give you any more info you need :) Happy Playing!
