Question about tax refunds?

My mom is trying to File taxes for me and MY daughter, when i've been living with my boyfriends family for over a year now, my mother is selfish/pill head whom likes to take the money i do happen to get.

My boyfriends family is very accepting and they have been supporting me and my child for a YEAR. no doubts about it.

is there anyway that my boyfriend's family will be able to file EVEN though i know my mother is, and be able to get the money back?

(i've talked to my mother about it, and she's to selfish to really care, and My boyfriends Family deserves to get it, like said, i have NOT lived with my mother.)

Also, she does not have a Job, and my father is deceased so i don't see how she can file anyhow.

please help.

The easiest way to stop mom in her tracks is to get a job yourself, support yourself, and rightfully claim yourself and your daughter on your own taxes.

If your bf's parents are the grandparents of your child, and they provided more than 50% of the support of the grandchild, they can claim the grandchild on their taxes.

If you are getting survivor benefits from social security due to the death of your father, you should ask them to assign a trusted relative (not mom) to be your representative payee. Otherwise, get a job and support yourself, and it will stop mom from doing this.

I filed on Jane sixteenth and became no longer popular till the seventeenth whilst IRS opened. I filed on line with HR BLock and that i gained my refund the day beforehand of this. yet i understand that there are different people who filed an identical day as me and that they do no longer seem to be getting theirs till Feb 1st. So some are working previous due. I had mine first ingredient this morning.

    It's not who files first.

Have your BF's parents claim you and the daughter as qualifying relativess. (If the baby is their grandchild, they file her as a qualifying child.)

the IRS will sort out duplicate claims.

If your baby is related to them and they pay more then half od your support they can claim her. They can't claim you though, you are not related, you are a roommate, nothing more.
