Best sleeping positions to reduce menstrual pain?
I have extremely bad sickening menstrual cramps—especially in my lower back. Is there a specific sleeping position to help relieve this pain and help me sleep better?
Thank you guys!

putting pressure on my stomach relieves some pain that i have during cramps, so what i do is sleep with pilliow underneath my stomach, doesnt mean you have to sleep on your belly, you can sleep whichever way[laying on back wouldnt work] but if you sleep sidewasy like me i lay on 1/3 of the pillow if not more and the rest of it puts pressure on my stomach...this helps me out A LOT, hope this helps you out too:)

Rather than finding a 'comfy' sleeping position (which unfortunately I can't give you advice on as I don't know if there even is one) have you tried sleeping with a hot water bottle on your abdomen? Or one of those jelly pads you heat in hot water or the microwave? Heat against a pain source is often a very effective soother, as well as relaxing. If you find periods this painful, perhaps you should also consider discussing pain relief, or the Pill, with your GP. The Pill can be used both to regulate periods, control the density of the flow, and reduce pain.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net/

Fetal Position. Lol, works for me, sometimes I just wanna roll up in a ball and cry. Lmao
Anyway, Since you have back pain, laying on your back could work. Just move around and find what works best for you. Maybe take an aspirin before bed.

The best solution for me is just sleeping even though I'm not sleepy, I'd just force myself to sleep and then when I wake up it's already gone. That's how it works for me everytime I have dysmenorrhea

I used to have the same problem. I slept in a fetal position, which helped a little; but there was no position that really helped a lot; but it did help me rather than sleeping on my back. Good luck!

you could lay on your back and put a small pillow underneath your lower back or bottom, or i prefer to lay on my side, with a pillow in between my knees.
