How can you tell the Class of a Walking Stick by it's legs?
Class as in Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species. Walking Stick as in the insect not the cane. I'm wondering how the legs can aid in the identification of these insects. thanks!
okay thanks, somebody asked me that question and I totally didn't get it. so what I'm really asking is what is it about a Walking Stick's legs that place it in the class Insecta?

I'm not sure I'm understanding the question. A walking stick is an insect, and thus in the Class Insecta. According to Wikipedia there are three suborders in the Walking Stick order (Phasmatodea), and one of them (Tinema) has three segments in its tarsi (a part of the leg - basically the foot area below the "ankle") rather than five.
