Is this a normal heart rate for me?
I am 20 years old, about 139 pounds, 5'9". Over a year ago I used to exercise quite regularly (as in 4 to 5 times or more a week) by running and weight lifting. I recently started running again to get back into shape and I was on an elliptical machine (basically a running machine, if you don't know what it is) and on a very easy resistance level. I just started running again 3 days ago, but noticed my heart rate on the machine today was at 190ish. The woman next to me was running at the same speed, but hers read 80. I know there's a difference between male and female when it comes to exercising, but this is an enormous gap. Is my heart rate normal for a relatively easy run?

I see nothing out of the ordinary here ;so relax
When I do light exercises my heart rate already goes up to 180.
And my Dr says that that is good.
So :no worries

this seems really high! were you at a gym? you could ask someone who works there, they are well trained in all things fitness related. it's definitely something you should keep an eye on and be careful. you may want to get checked by a doctor if it keeps happening

Don't ignore it if you never had this before. Does this ever happen when you are at rest? Does your chest ever feel tight or painful? I am 25 (female) and I had SVT (Supraventricular Tachycardia) that only bothered me at random times..... If it bothers you, get it checked.
