What would the NFL do scheduling-wise if both the Giants and the Jets hosted the championship games?

In the other two playoff rounds, they would probably just put one on Saturday and one on Sunday, but both championship games are on Sunday, right?

Obviously this can't happen this year, but I just got to thinking about it after realizing that next Sunday night's game would be the last ever at Giants Stadium unless the Jets make playoffs as 5th seed and miraculously end up hosting 6th seed in AFC Championship.

Odds are this will never happen. If it did, I would assume that the NFL would just reschedule one of the games to Saturday instead of Sunday. The other option would be to play one of the games at around noon and the other as a night game, like around 8:00. This would probably give them enough time to clear out all of the fans and give the teams time to warm up between games. It would be a logistics nightmare, though!

If such were to happen in any year, the likely scenario is Saturday and Sunday; the Giants would probably get the Sunday game.

Placing them on the same day will be a nightmare, no matter which mode fans take to the game.

That's a good question. I never thought of that. I suspect that they would have to hold the games on different days. If it's on a normal schedule where the Super Bowl is two weeks after the championships, the different days won't really matter. But if there was only one week in between, then somebody will holler to high heaven.
