Pro-Lifers: What Do You Think of Abortion When the Mother's Health/Life is at Risk?

Yes it is rare. But it happens. So how do you feel about abortion when if the mother carries full term, she'll likely die? Should she have the option of getting an abortion or should she have to take that risk?

"Pro lifers" are not known for caring about the lives of women.

  • Depends. Under what circumstances would giving birth put a woman's life in danger? By the time you know this, how much less invasive and traumatic is an abortion versus, say a C-section? And, at the point where she is ready to 'give' birth, that child is a fully functioning, fully feeling human being. Do you really understand what an 'abortion' entails at this point? Next time you're in the mall and you see a baby in a stroller, imagine yourself going over to the child, taking a knife and ripping it limb from limb. That is what you're suggesting. So I'd suggest a C-section under almost an circumstances and take your chances. And chances are, both would be fine.

id risk it to be honest with you, because the second i got pregnant my baby became more important then my own life and id do anything for her, so id leave that in gods hands why mess with nature. sometimes doctors are wrong anyway, ihad a friend who was told that she could die while giving birth and they recommended abortion, she said no. she gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy and nothing happened, they were just wrong about it or it just did not happen. either way sometimes things hapen and id let that be up to god. yeah it might sound nutty but i love my baby to much to consider killing her for my own life, once your a mom your baby is more important then you. i would really just risk it...just because i couldnt live with thinking i killed my baby and wondering if i really did the right thing.

confident, (however i think I sway closer to being professional-decision than professional-existence) the mortality fee of mothers in coming up international places is extra effective than sufficient to back your element. regularly as a results of a loss of training, severe dangers of rape and prostitution, women persons have many babies, too many to guard in poverty. In circumstances of rape those women persons might additionally settlement the HIV virus, and hence the fetus will too, so as that toddler will die besides and so will this is mom. devoid of scientific care, many females persons die throughout the time of labour besides, and this regularly effects interior the toddler's loss of existence, if the toddler lives, it may be regarded after by potential of different babies of this is deceased mom or grandparents, those could be incapable of looking after a new child. So confident I agree.

God, I don't think there are very many people who would say she would have to carry the baby in those circumstances!

If the mother's life is at risk, her life is completely, 100% superior to the life of the foetus.

    Otherwise, I remain pro-life.

according to my wife, a labor and delivery nurse in a trauma level 3 hospital (that is the best in the region), she has never seen a case of an abortion to save the life of the mother. She has been a L&D RN for 25 years so far.

Maybe in a country without the medical care, a country without prenatal care, and in this country after 0bama care become law, it happens, but not in the America of today.

I think the "mother" must be pretty damn selfish and deserves to die if she wants to murder her baby to save herself! I don't care how many BORN children she has depending on her! That unborn baby needs her just as much!!

Complications that threaten the life of mother and baby happen late enough in the pregnancy where the baby can be sugically removed from the mother's womb and placed in an incubator, thus leaving mother and baby perfectly safe.

There are no circumstances in which abortion can be considered the morally proper alternative.

If either the mother or the child will die during the birth, then it should be the mother's decision.

But that is rarely, if ever known, these days.

It is so rare it is intellectually dishonest to use to defend abortion on demand. As is rape. Why is it that literally thousands of unprotected sex acts don't end in pregnancy but almost every report of rape does, is it because rapists are so virile or maybe because those women lie to cover up irresponsible acts.

Speaking for myself I would gladly trade my life for those of my little girls.

A fetus is not human. You don't become human on conception, you become human when you can live without being inside of a host body.
