Why are some people so biased against muslims?
Okay well I'm Muslim and i've been hearing so much stuff about Muslims, it's so mean, and it breaks my heart to be criticized against just because of someone else's actions. I know it's not everyone but I would just like to know why?
thanks for the honest answers i'm not holding the whole nation, i understand how the fact that the Qua'ran encourages violence is terrible and i'm against it and think it's really cruel.

Because some narrow-minded people (usually Americans) don’t know any Muslims personally so they make an unintelligent generalization and assume all Muslims are terrorists. Sad isn’t it?

Muslims are criticized because people do not understand Islam. They need something to blame for the way the world is; it just happens that at this time it is is Islam and Muslims. You should try to inform and educate other people about Islam so they can know the true religion.
People who quote passages from the Qur'an must look at the full context of that passage. Many times what may seem violent and aggressive, is actually wise and peaceful once the full meaning is clear.

Too bad!! Lots of Americans are real stupid because we're very insulated from the world. We're SO RICH that we don't have to think about anything - and this leaves us with our self-righteous religious lies.
And then republicans have done everything they can to turn Muslims into a threat because it increases their hold on the American people. Republicans LOVE fear and terror and prejudice and hate.
So Muslims will just have to put up with our meanness and stupidity and ugliness - it's too bad. But I see no way of educating the American people very quickly.
Just realize that for every American Dumbsh*t there exists an educated American who doesn't fall into the American Hate Camp.

I know people are really mean to Muslims, I've seen it many times. People like O'Reilly, Beck, they all encourage this type of behavior and I am sorry that you have to experience it. I've lived in NYC my entire life and I remember how bad tensions were after 9/11, people need someone to blame and to take their anger out against.
But you can't hold an entire nationality responsible for the actions of a few extremists.

Sadly, just because a person claims the title Christian does not mean they understand the religion.
The Catholic church has millions of so-called Christians yet the majority I only see in church on Christmas and Easter...
When I attend confession I can count the amount of people on two hands, are we the only sinners?
One must gain a good understanding of there own religion before they can judge another religious belief.

Consider the fact (FACT) that the only people who've been trying to blow up airplanes are Muslims.
Consider that the Muslim religion says all non-Muslims should convert to Islam or be killed as infidels.
No other religion advocates the murder of nonbelievers.
I am biased against ALL religions however. They're all stupid, silly, superstitious nonsense that accomplishes nothing but to fuel arguments and hatred.
The human race does not need subdivisions. We're all the same.

People fear what they don't understand. When the Most High reveals himself and lifts the veil from the eyes of mankind, all mysteries will end and understanding will begin.

Because of Islam extremists and the media. I am Christian, and I(unlike most of my Christians friends) think there is nothing wrong with Islam. Islam extremists don't practice the true Islam.

Perhaps it is the perception of being less than visibly active in calling out and combating the fundamentalists in your own ranks.
