how to get rid of a paunch?
I have a vacation coming up march 2010 where tank tops and swimsuits are pretty much a given. I have a bad paunch (stomach below bellybutton) and sit-ups do nothing for that.
I've been using all these different exercises including leg-lifts, side sit-ups, and the works, but none focus on that lower portion of my stomach.
Many answers are just "go walking" or "do sit-ups" but non of those really focus where I want them to.
I only have just under 3 months to get a better stomach, so speed would be appreciated.
*no "fat-burning pills" or such, please*
thanks.

doing strengthening exercises for your abs will actually make your stomach bigger as your abs swell. if you want to lose weight, i suggest a combination of running/eliptical machines and cutting down on calories, especially after 7 PM and carbohydrates. doing fast crunches should both burn calories and tone your stomach, but any time you exercise your abs they will get bigger.
hope this helped.

harder solution tip
1. the pouch could be hereditary (so that would mean tummy tuck or lypo-suction) both I do not recommend.
2. drink lots of water (could be bloated)
3. tighten up your stomach muscle through out the day (naturally). Whenever you think of it, just tighten up that muscle (remember to breath)
4. try cycling, it is amazing, but it works out your entire body including arms if you put the setting for uphill from time to time.. walking does nothing for pouches and leg lifts could increase the bulge.
good luck
