Do you have to pull out your wisdom teeths in order to put in braces?
I recently went to my dentist to ask him about the braces. This dentist said he wanted to take out one of my inside teeths on the side so that he can pull back the rest of the teeths. My teeths are over crowded. He didn't mention anything about my wisdom teeths but I am concerned because my first dentist said that if i ever wanted braces i would have to pull out all my wisdom teeths in order to put my braces in. I just want to know if you have to pull out the wisdom teeths in order to put the braces on or can you leave them the way they are would that interfear with my teeths after they are fixed from the braces?

No, you don't have to pull out your wisdom teeth in order to have braces on.

I had 2 perminate teeth pulled from the top set. You can't tell the difference. Also I didn't get my braces off till i was 16 and didn't get my wisdom teeth out till I was 20. It all depends on how developed your wisdom teeth are and if your dentist doesn't seem worried about it I wouldn't worry about it either.

It's something to talk to your orthodontist about. I have three wisdom teeth that grew in straight. When I went to get Invisaligns, I was told that my mouth was overcrowded. I could get the wisdom teeth pulled or have some of the enamel from some of my teeth filed down. Apparently because I am Asian, I have extra enamel on my teeth. I took the second option. I think when your second dentist was talking about your inside teeth, he must have been talking about your wisdom teeth. You don't really need those to chew, so he would probably go for those. I would talk to him though and see what he says. You should be comfortable and knowledgeable about any orthodontic treatment you're getting.

i had my wisdom teeth pulled while i had braces on. it's doesn't make a difference they should be able to do it whether you have braces or not seeing how none of the braces will be attached to the wisdom teeth. I guess it just makes it easier for the dentist/surgeon to have more room to work with?

It is good to have your wisdom teeth pulled before braces especially if you have crowding. The wisdoms will just push your teeth after the braces come off and you will have crowding again. also it is best to have your wisdom teeth taken out when you are young so they don't get fused to the bone and they are harder to get out.

No you do not. I had braces in 2nd grade and my teeth were fixed. I did not get my wisdom teeth out until I was 23. However, I decided to get mine out because I did not want them to push my straightened teeth (which they will sometimes do). Sometimes before braces you do have to get out other teeth that are not really necessary, but the orthodontist will recomend that to you and tell you which ones.

yes you get put to sleep for wisdom teeth removal, ask your oral surgeon or whoever any questions you have. and also yes to the braces with wisdom teeth.
