11 weeks pregnant and suffering from cold and fever, please help!!!?
Hi All,
I am 11 weeks pregnant and from the last three days suffering from cold and fever(which varies from 99.4 to 98.4), Doctor advised to take tylenol but am not very comfortable having any medication. Though I took one today as my husband insisted.
Can anyone give me home remedy to lower my temperature and for cold.
Thank you for the answers in advance!!!
Happy pregnancy to all:)

Tylenol is fine, but I wouldn't recommend taking it for more than a few days because of the alcohol content and the relation of that to the risk of liver damage. Unfortunately, a lot of medicines are off limits during pregnancy, but more so especially in the first trimester, which is why you want to run it by your doctor before you take any. I have been through several bouts of colds throughout this pregnancy, I am currently 35 weeks, and I basically stuck it out without and medicines. Some things I used to relieve my symptoms were having a vaporizer next to my bed every night, have my fiance' rub me down with some vapor rub, stay hydrated with lots of water. I am like you, I do not like taking medicine, especially during pregnancy even if they say it is ok, I tend to stick it out with minor illnesses such as colds.

Want some relief in indian way: OK Try one glass of hot milk and MIX 1/2 tsp haldi (turmeric), 1/4 tsp sonth powder (dry ginger powder). Drink slowly it before sleep and morning after having bath. Avoid cold wind or A/C after taking milk. Try chewing Mulethi, it will make you cough-up all the jammed cough. do this for atleast five days without break, if it works continue for upto 7 days. In case you want fast relief, pls go the the doctor in consultation to your gynaecologist.

Your temperature is fine and is not a fever. Normal temp is 98.6, and during pregnancy our temps seem to rise about a degree higher on average. I know you can take robitussin, otherwise just get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluid.
