Transferring 8mm video to DVD help?
I have old 8mm tapes and I want to get them transferred to DVD, First where can I get this done, and second, once transferred will I be able to take the new DVD and load it into my iMovie program and duplicate clips to add to another movie? If not - what would I do to achieve this? thanks
thanks - I went to the site, other than the stress of sending the originals through the mail, it sounds like just what I need!

There are several companies that do this work for ~ $10 a tape. DVDs made this way are not copy protected, so you can go ahead and copy/edit them as you wish. I used Wood-Land quite satisfactorily to move some old 8 mm film to MiniDV tape, but they also do 8 mm video transfers to DVD.
