He has a contract. Can you imagine if comedians worked on commission of how funny their jokes were every night? How has Jay Leno been on the air for 20 years? He was never funny, not even in the beginning. At least Letterman *used to be*. Conan was funny when he wrote his own jokes with Andy several years ago, long before he moved to LA.

Well. He is popular. Sleeps with every girl in the building; and i am sure that he pays people.
