How much would it cost to replace the steering column on my 89 ford?

That depends on were you are located. In most cases it is a four hour job and at 60-80 bucks per hour for labor. Then it's the cost of the column, usually around 100 bucks. I would charge 100 bucks labor, plus the cost of the column because I know a short cut and can do it in 2 hours. So, you do the math. My question is why are you replacing the column? If it's because the tilt mechanism is loose and sloppy, that can actually be repaired without having to remove the column. Hope this helps. Christopher

I had an 89 F-150. If you are looking at replacing the column because of problems with the ignition switch, check your local parts stores. There is a rebuild kit available for about $30 that will fix the problem.

I believe you could pick one up at a salvage yard for around $ 350.bucks .if not for less.
