What are the general utility costs/fees in LA?

Moving back to the states from over seas, and would like an idea of general costs of utilities for a loft/condo. Water/Sewer, Electric, Garbage, Cable/Internet...

Thank you for your time

It all depends on the size of your place or apartment, and whether utilities are included in the price of rent. One bit of advice: Electrical in the City of LA is about half of what it costs outside LA. LADWP is the biggest thing I miss about LA.

Last place we lived in LA was a 3 BR house, and our electrcity bill ranged from $150 per month in summer, down to $50 per month most of the year. Figure $50-$75 per month or so for electricity, water, & sewer for a 1 BR apartment.

Gas is pretty cheap. $10-$20 per month.

Internet is going to be a lot more, depending on how you get your TV. We pay $40 per month for high speed Internet, $40 for cable, and $40 for landline phone. We get our Internet via the TV cable, but you can also get it via phone lines or even satellite.
