Unfortunately there is always some-one who will kill, the birds and take their eggs just for the sheer H*ll of it.

Also it unfortunate that there is nothing that you can do about it, it is Illegal to take Swans eggs or disturb them(as they are a protected bird, that's a laugh in some areas),only the local Wildlife Officer of your council(or Police,Wild life Officer) will be able to give you further advice on this subject

Hi i live in nottingham and i hate how all the swans in this area seem to be killed and mistreated. One thing you could do is ring up a number of swan sancturaries and tell them what has been happenign they have the right to remove swans and take them to there sancturaries and later release them either to there own protected reserves or other areas considerd safe it sounds like this pair are doomed.

Source(s): own knowledge i've seen them do it on tv

You can make egg salad -Boil the eggs for exactly 15 minutes (put the eggs in just before the water starts to boil) -Take them out with a spoon and put them in ice-water -peel em -cut em up -in a bowl add mayo, mustard (about a teaspoon per egg you make, just eyeball it)onion and pickle -add salt and pepper to taste -slather that on some toast and you will not be sorry. Hmm.... i wish i knew what other ingredients you had so i could get a better idea.

I agree; besides if you incubated them and hatched them they would not be able to survive in the wild; maybe a turtle got the eggs; don't worry; there are plenty of swans they will return; maybe you could build some type of a cage around the nest next yr. to protects the Swan Eggs !
