The Eagles have the simplest path to the bye. Defeat the Cowboys, get the bye.

The Vikings need to defeat the Giants and hope that the Eagles do NOT win.

The Cardinals need to defeat the Packers to have a chance, and that chance is only possible with the following help: the Cowboys defeat the Eagles and the Giants defeat the Vikings. I should note that this is my preferred outcome, even though it's not very likely.

The Cowboys need the same help the Cardinals do, but the Cowboys also need the Packers to at least tie the Cardinals.

Ultimately, the team that ends up with the #2 seed will "deserve" the bye, but if you're asking who is most likely to get it, I think that will be the Vikings.

    First off:

@Binoy. The Saints ALREADY HAVE A FIRST-ROUND BYE AND HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE by virtue of the Vikes losing last night.

Now to answer the question. I think that the Eagles will earn the #2 spot, and yes, I do think they deserve it, because they are in my opinion the best form team in the NFC right now. Some people say they struggled against the Broncos on Sunday, but don't forget that they came up against a team in Denver that were fighting to keep their own playoff hopes alive. Despite this, the Eagles had more than enough quality to dispose of the Broncos in the end.

As for the others, Minnesota appear to be backing into the playoffs, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them lose to the Giants on Sunday, despite NYG having nothing more to play for. Dallas could have the measure of Philly when they play, but to me they have been unconvincing. They looked great when they beat New Orleans, but far from dominant in beating a mediocre Washington side.

As for the Cards, they need to win and need a lot of help. You have to question whether it is worth the effort on their part. I expect them to rest starters against the Pack.

So to summarise, Eagles to win AND deserve the #2 seeding for me.

The Eagles are on a hot streak, and will probably get it. The Vikings looked better in the second half, and if they can keep that momentum through next week, they have a shot. They always play tough against the Giants. As a Viking fan, I have to hope that they get it so they don't have to play in the cold of Philly, but after watching last night's game, I think it will be the Eagles.

    In this order...

Eagles-- Even if Vikings win (depends which Giant team shows up), if Eagles beat Dallas they will hold the tiebreaker.

Vikings-- Would get in with a win and philly loss.

Cowboys-- need to win, and have vikes and cards lose.

Cardinals--not sure, but i think they do have a chance.

    Packers-- dont have any shot.

The team that gets the bye deserves it. I believe if the Eagles beat the Cowboys Sunday they will get the bye.

Eagles Deserve it and when we beat Dallas we will get it. I noticed your name what the hell happened to the Vikings last night, on Defense?? I mean got shut out on Offense first half, then turned it on just got no help from their "D"
