Moms, tell me about your house/apartment/condo/flat/trailer/domicile....?
My house is 4 stories and 5,000 square feet. We have a pool, a tennis court, and live on a golf course. We have 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. I have a jet tub and a 500 square foot closet to fit all my clothes in. We even have a special section behind the kitchen for the live in maid!
So, tell me about your house now!
Just kidding. We live in a decent neighborhood with mid 1980's homes. My house is brick with white columns in the front. We have an ok sized fenced in yard-but of course, hubs would like a bigger one. We have just remodeled our kitchen and it's so nice now! I love it! We did the work ourselves, which saved us a ton of $$$(my dad is a contractor and both hubs and I have worked for/with him on a lot of houses). We have 4 bedrooms but one is really small-just big enough for the crib, dresser and a few toys. We have a fireplace that is used very little-but I would love to use it more. We are at the end of a cul-de-sac. I only know 3 of our neighbors. We live 2 minutes away from my MIL and walk to their house a lot. We were very very lucky when we got this house. It was definitely out of our price range.... but it needed a lot of updating and repairs so we got it for a good price.
Tell me about where you live. Your likes and dislikes! :)

I live in a 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bathroom apartment. It's $625 a month.
Likes:
has a carport and outdoor storage
has a dumpster so I don't have to take my trash to the curb
has a big living/dining room combo so my kids have room to play
laundry room isn't far from my room
has a big storage closet inside so I put my desk in it and turned it into an office
the bedrooms are roomy
dislikes:
it's only 2 bedrooms I wish my kids had separate rooms.
for the price I could have a house
it's on the second floor
always having to call the landlord to come fix the closet door because they come off sometimes and I can't get them back on
some of the switches are for lamps because my bedroom for instance doesn't have an overhead light
my ex lives 2 minutes away and he's a jerk (it was our place together)
It doesn't have a yard
I'm moving this month and I'm so happy about that! Probably still a two bedroom as it's expensive for a 3 bedroom and I'm still a college student so I'm not rich. But it is nice my Mom thinks it's nicer than her house.

I guess you could say we live in a ranch style home... in a tiny town of like 2000 people. We rent, at $450 a month just for the house, only about another $300-$350 in bills a month (water, electricity, gas, internet, etc.) It's 3 bedroom, though one of the bedrooms has been turned into my laundry room/storage room :) Emma has her own room, and our room is decent sized too. 1 bathroom, a nice eat in kitchen with plenty of storage. A hugeeee living room which fits both couches, a huge loveseat, rocking chair, a 50 in plasma tv, plus tons of Emmas toys! The way we have it set up right now, half of it is a living space, the other half is full of toys (since I also watch 2 other kids here during the day to bring in some extra $$$) it has a 1 stall garage, but a big driveway to fit the mans other toys. Also has a HUGE yard, which is a bonus for renting so cheap. At the moment it is a perfect house for us, but if we want to grow our family we might need something different. We have been thinking about buying a house instead of renting, which might happen in the near-ish future (a year or two). The only thing I really don't like is that it is all 1 story. It is nice to not have steps for my child to fall down... but all of the bedrooms are right off of the long living room... so we have to be extra quiet when Emma goes to bed so the tv and stuff doesn't wake her... hard to do with company over too. The basement is not finished, but it is also huge, and has tons of shelves to stack all the old baby stuff not in use at the moment. We are looking for a 2 story home in the country, with a decent yard, amount of bedrooms/bathrooms, and 2 stall garage.

We have a a fibro house, it would have been very small but has been renovated. It wa one layer, 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, but has an extention which is a bedroom and a 'playroom', and on the top layer the wall has been knocked out between the loungeroom and a bedroom to make a decent sized loungeroom.
Likes
- It has every kind of fruit tree you can think of
- Has a great bbq area
- Has a great backyard for kids
- Has a beautiful pond just outside the back door.
- The shower and laundry go onto the garden, so is a great water saver
Dislikes
- It's in the worst suburb of the whole of Western Australia (Rangeway)
- The bathroom is GROSS
- It's built on limestone so you can hear thumps from the neighbours even though they are quite far away it sound like they are walking around in our house
- The kitchen is too small, we had to put the fridge and dishwasher in the laundry and 2 people can't comfortably walk though it. There is not enough cupboard space or bench space.

Man, I'd love to live in the house you first described! LOL
We live in an old brick house, 2500 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and a bonus room ("man cave")
It has wide distressed wood floors throughout, arched doorways, and a large pool in the backyard. :)
It's an older house, but that's what i loved about it when my husband and I first looked at it. It has tons of character and charm which I found many of the new homes lacking when we were house hunting. We have a large brick fireplace in our kitchen that heats our whole house during the winters.
The pool is amazing during the summer time, but of course with 2 small boys, it has also been a constant worry and concern. We have been very careful about it though.
I love our house, of course there are quirky things about it that I don't love, but any older home has some "imperfections". We've poured a lot of hard work and love into it though, and the only thing that would make me want to move in the future, would be finding a place out in the country where we could keep horses. Some day I'd love for my boys to grow up with horses and "farm work" like I did when I was growing up.
Oh, and are whole house is decorated in a beach cottage/shabby chic style. I love quilts, pretty china, and distressed furniture. :)

We live in a typical suburban home (Florida style) Which means stucco, I hate stucco. It is hard to find wood, brick or even wood looking siding on houses here.
We are in a good sized 3 bedroom/2 bath house. We have only about 1/4 acre lot with a privacy fence for the back and side yards, we have 3 dogs so we needed the fence. Large eat in kitchen, dining room turned playroom, and large family room. It is a nice change, we were in a small 900ft 2/2. We got lucky and found this home a in May and bought it from the bank as a foreclosure.
We need to get a larger ac unit, but the current one is new and the roof is new. I love our neighbors, the "hood" has lots of families, kids and doggies all over. It really is a great place, I lived on Air force bases my whole life, my Dad was an officer and this reminds me of some of those bases, pretty safe and everyone is friendly.
I would love the house you first described, but would need the maid too, as I am OCD about keeping a clean house for my daughter,... BUT hate cleaning, lol

LOL. When I read the first paragraph I was like man-great house :)
Let's see- We moved into our dream house in June of 2009. It's 5 bedrooms, which is awesome because we can fit all the girls really well and have room for my son, due in May :) We live in a wonderful, private neighborhood and it's awesome. We have quite a bit of land and a fenced in back yard. The outside of our house is stone and I love it! One thing that I absolutely love about the house is it has an awesome sized living room(tons of room for the kids to play in) and a decent sized kitchen(since I love to cook) The yard of our house is awesome! As I mentioned it's fenced in and we've got a lot of room to move around. When we moved in,there was a pool, so we enjoy that in the summers! My husband and I both love to spend time out doors, so come spring I plan to work on a garden and do some redesigning outside. :) The only thing I have to complain about the whole house is when we moved in, the windows were pretty old, so we had to replace them-but they're nice and new now :) The neighborhood we live in is awesome and all on our street is families with young children as well :) So overall, I love my house-couldn't be happier!

My husband, daughter and I like on the backside of a subdivision. Behind us is house and in front in a field. We have a part of our backyard fenced in for our dog and the rest is just open...there is 1.5 acres with out house. I think the lot beside us was meant for another house but the the previous owners bought it so they wouldn't have neighbors.
The house is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and a decent size. It's brick on the outside and sits on a slab.
Like- I like the over look of the house. We decorated it modern style and I like the way the house is set up.
Dislike- The bathrooms could be bigger and I would ADORE a walk-in closet. We just don't seem to have enough space lol
Also, I am a country girl, I cam from a home with 35 acres of land and I want to get back out to ourselves. We just couldnt afford the upkeep at this point in our lives.

I live in an old house that was turned into apartments ( 5 of them ) We live in an upper end apartment, it's close to downtown, drugstores, grocery stores and the hospital & clinic. We live in the middle of both of our parents. The size of our apartment is actually perfect for us, my daughters room is right off of the living room so I only need one gate to seperate the living room, her bedroom and computer room from the kitchen, hall and the other rooms so it allows her free range of three rooms. Her bedroom is on the smaller side, but with some good organization and storage we make it work pretty well. We live right on a corner and right across the road is a convenience store - which has come in pretty handy lately! Our house is red brick with white trim and a green-ish roof.
The only thing I dislike is we don't have our own yard, parents are kind of far away and it's not my hometown so I miss a lot of my friends. I love this house, the character of it and everything.

We live in a 2 bedroom apt in the bay area. My 2 year old & 6 month old share a room. It's $1000 a month which is great for the location we live in. my MIL lives above us & my SIL lives in the apt next to my MIL.
Likes:
my covered parking spot that is 5 steps from my door, the walk way is covered to so I never get wet
my neighbor is my bestfriend
we all take the kids outside almost everyday and they play together
5 min walk from downtown and right across the street for the fairground
10 min drive to Walmart, safeway, & the mall
5 mins to 2 freeways
dislikes:
we have to use the laundry room which sucks
the dumpster is always full
it takes forever to get stuff fixed & the landlord is cheap
when the fairs in town or there are events at the fairgrounds are street is full of cars and speeding idiots & music plays till 12 am sometimes and we can still hear it with our windows & doors shut
1 of our neighbors sprays my kids toys with water and gets them muddy all the time

We have a 6 bedroom house 3 bathrooms and our house will be 100 years old next year! It needs a lot of remodeling done and it really sucks because we don not have central heating and air! I know exactly 0 of our neighbors because we barely moved in this month and have been so busy. I love that there is a Family dollar that takes less than 5 minutes to walk to so if I need a snack or diapers or wipes are getting low. I hate that the street right here is pretty busy so lots of cars and of course sirens from cops/ ambulances and stuff! Oh and I love that we have a pecan tree in our backyard because I love pecans and love pecan pie even more!
