My Sims keeps crashing right when it starts. Is there way I can make it work?

My friend got me Sims 2 Double Deluxe and Teen Style Stufff for Christmas and I just put them on yesterday. When ever I click any of the Sims items to play I go to a blue screen and then it make a sound meaning that its crashed. I dont know why it keeps happening because we just set up our new computer with Windows 7 the same day. HELP!

This is the number one reason for a computer to crash. The files in your registry contain instructions for every program and application in your computer. When they become corrupted with errors or go missing, the computer will have a hard time running the programs, and crash as a result. It is highly recommended that you do not attempt to fix the registry yourself. The first thing you should do is to download a registry cleaner software and do a free scan on your computer.I should like to commend Registry Easy http://cleanup-comuter-run-perfectly.com/ to you ! The software will automatically detect all the known errors and missing entries, and then repair and restore them so you can have your computer running like new again. You can scan your pc for free! Good luck!

Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info/

If you have any custom content, uninstall it. (That means you found it on the internet and installed it into your game. I dunno if you know what that is, but my friend and I used to use it when we were on our Sims 2 kick.) Restart your computer, try to run another program on your computer (i.e., another game or a software like Photoshop, just to figure out if it's the Sims game or your computer). Then uninstall the Sims and reinstall it.
