there are other reasons for crime not just addiction such as mental illness. there is no more help for mental illness than there is for addiction. good thing addiction is curable mental illness on the other hand among many other things is not. that is not to say that only people who are addicts or are mentally ill commit crimes many perfectly normal people commit crimes. i wouldn't say there is a larger number of crime committed by drug addicts than any other group of people so they should not be singled out as the ones who need help.

Probably becuase most addicts don't want to admit they have a problem and can be abusive towards those who try to help them. After a while that wears on people. They have themselves convinced they are only hurting themselves and don't care to solve the problem.

There's all kinds of help for addicts.

But none of it will work until the addicts are ready to receive it.

Our government needs drug addicts and crime to justify its massive police force, and keep the people down.

There never seems to be any money for help, only for punishment. It's almost like our govt is in denial about human nature and its frailities.
