Can I eat Progresso soup after it expires?

Didn't bring a lunch today. Found a can of Progresso soup expired in March. Go for it or not?

    Yes, it's ok. Canned food can last for years as long as it is not opened or the can is not dented.

    The dates on the cans are not EXPIRY dates, they are sell by dates, or best before dates. They are dates where the food will taste the best before this date, but they are not expiry dates.

    No one ever reads those correctly, I don't know why the FDA put them on because only a few people know what they are.
