question about being a Veterinarian.?

if you become a Veterinarian do you have to do surgory or can you just do check ups and what not. because i would like to be a vet but don't feel like cuting animals open and probing around in them. so would i have to do that or could i just be like a check up doctor?

    you could just be a vet nurse.

    They work alongside the surgeons, they are a key role in the surgery and care for the animals.

    - They do some minor surgery, under vet supervision

    - Hold animals while vet examines them for surgery

    - Do check ups and health checks

    - Doing blood tests etc

    - Caring for the animals that have had an operation (feeding etc)

    - Cleaning wounds

    you must be employed in an approved and registered veterinary practice and work towards NVQ levels 2 and 3.

    you might have to do the surgery

    but you could always be a vet assistant

    but vet assistants don't have to go to college so they don't make as much money
