What exaactly is a "troll" in reference to comments made in YA? Is there any redeeming social value in having?

A troll is someone who posts offensive or incensing content to have a good laugh at the hullabaloo everyone has over it.

I think a troll is a person who is putting you on. They are laughing at your ineptitude and lack of social graces. They tend to cause you to rethink.
