When to book a hotel when arriving close to midnight?
I will arrive in a airport at 10pm (let's say December 28). Considering the possibility of bad weather, finding transportation, waiting for the luggage, etc, I may arrive at the hotel close if not after the midnight (on December 29). Should I book the hotel (using hotels.com or Priceline) for the 28th or 29th? Thanks.

Definitely the 28th. If you book it for the 29th, you will not be able to check in until around 3pm or so (depending on the hotel's check-in policies) on the 29th. Even if you arrive after midnight, when it's technically the 29th, as long as you have given a credit card number to the hotel, they'll hold a room for you.
However, it would be nice to call the hotel and let them know that you will be arriving very late.

You need to book for the 28th. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
