Thinking of moving to Landstuhl?

Has anyone ever lived in Landstuhl? I'm thinking of moving there to work in the US Army Hospital and wanted to know what life was like in that region.

Update:

I live in the States. It wouldn't let me post this question unless I picked a region in Germany. Since I had no idea where Landstuhl was, I just randomly picked Hamburg. Doesn't mean I'm any less mad though:)

Landstuhl is a tiny city close to the Rammstein air base and close to the National parc ''Pfälzer Wald''

I will join the link to Google maps

It is very rural environment so if you come from any bigger city in the US be prepared to quite a culture shock.

On google maps you also find some pictures of the region.

BTW Landstuhl is very far from Hamburg almost the other end of Germany it is very far south Hamburg is in the north.

Landstuhl is quite small, but Kaiserslautern is very close (just a few minutes by car), so you won't be in the middle of nowhere. In Landstuhl there are some shops, a cinema (with English movies as well), a swimming pool and the ruins of an old castle on the top of the hill. But in Kaiserslautern you'll find everything that you need. The military base is supposed to be quite big and there are lots of Americans in Landstuhl. It's in the south west of Germany, by the way, quite close to Luxemburg and France.

Maybe this link will be helpful what you can expect at the base:

Beautiful place, my wife was stationed there in the eighties. However it is bitter cold in the winter.

I haven't lived in Landstuhl but my family lives 30 miles from there. I always go there to stay for months at a time. It s beautiful there. The people are really nice and the towns are great. I'm thinking of moving there myself. I totally recommend it.
