It looks real. I've been following this unrest since the student uprising of 1999. While the demonstrations beginning in June had a peaceful focus (protesters regretfully allowing Neda's murderer to be released), I knew the moment the police and Basij began shooting demonstrators the game would change. This anger has been boiling for many years, and it has spread beyond the youth into the more traditional, conservative cities and towns. I have seen YouTube footage of the crowds setting fire to police cars, motorcycles and trapping a gang of Basij thugs against a wall, who then became far less brave, pleading for their lives.

The Shah made the same mistake. As soon as you start killing your own, your own will turn upon you. Even the Shah had the decency to not murder on the holiest of days. But Khameini's gang did. And now, even the clerics are turning against him. The rats have nowhere to run, so they are going to be even more oppressive. There are no countries willing to accept Shias. The Shah had the west waiting for him. Where can these oppressors go? Nowhere, so the slaughter of innocents begins.

This is real. The citizens are fighting back with rage, fists, fire and clubs. Once they begin stealing guns from the other side, it will worsen. A-Jad will be hung like Mussolini.

It looks real to me. However I don't want to be considered conspiratorial, but it's possible that the Iranian Government manufactured the photo to smear the protester, but I don't think that's too likely

    Maybe, maybe not.

The photo iself is likely real but the context is uncertain.

Anyhow the situation leaves a person wondering how much of the agitation is by US agencies.

It is not the first time they staged protests and a coup in that country to overthrow a government and install a puppet regime.

After all, that is how the Shah came to power August 19 1953.

Most likely. The protesters are usually just standing around a government place, and then the military unloads their weapons into the masses. Iran is a boiling pot, and it won't be long before it boils over. And who do you think is going to be there to exploit the situation? I'll give you a hint. Who is the one country that has a prominent presence on all sides of Iran?
