What should I write about?
I'm here so you guys here on Y/A can help me pick out something to write about. It can be anything, fiction, an editorial, society, politics, videogames, health, etc.
I will say my strengths are fiction(poetry for example), politics, videogames, sports, society, to name a few. So any suggestions and be specific. I can't seem to figure it out what I would choose but any advice on it, I wuld greatly appreciate it. Don't be shy, just let it out and I'll give you an opinion on it. I also like surprises so give me what you got. Thanks.

I've probably mentioned it many times on here, but William Gibson said that if he taught a creative writing course, he would put a gun to the writer's head and tell them to write... uh, I think it was WG who said that, anyway.
So, I'm not suggesting you should pay someone to hold a gun to your head and I'm also not suggesting you should make this a chore. Sit at your computer, watch the cursor blink on the blank page and take as much time as you need. If there's a deadline and you're anything like me, that will help you get it finished.
Also, if you answer a lot of questions on here, find the one that you recently answered with the most elaboration. That might be a good nonfiction subject. As for fiction, you can never actively look for ideas... they just have to kind of come to you. That's my experience anyway.
My more specific answer is to write about what's going on in Iran. That's what I would write about. Or the latest discoveries on dark matter. But that's me.
Also, get inspired. You just can't be a good writer without influences. You act like this is for a project, so I would stick with your perceived strengths... there is no time to learn a new way to write. Not efficiently. Do the absolute best you can, which means dealing with those strengths and deviating from them only a little in an exploratory manner.

Well, although your strengths may lie in fiction, why not write a nice article? It will appeal to you and all kinds of readers. I would suggest you write about social networking sites and their impacts on society(such as Facebook,Twitter etc.) and how they have affected normal relationships, making them easier or more complicated. Although it does sound like a very used up idea, it still remains thought provoking. So, why not, eh?
Give it a shot. Hope I helped

* The effects of gangs in and beyond urban centers
* Are brand name clothes worth the price (Abercrombie, Ralph Lauren, Nike)
* Why are tattoos in style and what do they express
* The role of First Lady of the US
* Lying is OK sometimes?
* Effects of rap and hip-hop lyrics on teen language / behavior
* Can money buy happiness / what money can’t buy

Review the game Borderlands. I'm curious to see a review of it. Also comment on the MLB transactions that have happened so far this offseason.
