for the level 5 all-star cheerleaders out there.....?

okay so im an all star cheerleader and i have my full. but i am having trouble with my double. coaches said my full is perfect so they told me to twist faster to do a double(they were spotting me) and they said im like resisting or something. then i tried it one more time before practice was over and instead of twisting faster i flipped faster. they said im having so much trouble getting it because im already twisting to my full potential. but i really need to get my double soon because i have to have time to perfect it because i have try outs for twisters again in may. and im really trying to make F5 but i know im not gonna make it without a double. so if someone could please give me tips or details i would love it :) thanks :)

    When you set for your flip, try setting with your arms out a little wider. Like instead of straight up over your head, more like a wide high V. Then pull them in a lot harder. That should get you twisting faster. Without actually seeing what you're doing, that's the only thing I can tell you. There might be some other problem. But give it a try... it might help!

    Oh, you can also practice some twisting drills at home on your bed (or your mom's, if yours isn't big enough). Stand on the bed with your arms in that wide high V position; start falling backwards; AFTER you've started falling, pull your arms in hard and try to twist around 1 1/2 or two times before you land.

    Twisting tip: Don't pull both arms in at the same time. You want it to be like 1-2. For instance, if you twist right, you want to FIRST drive your right arm back really hard (like someone annoying is standing behind you and you're elbowing them in the face, haha). THEN punch your left arm around (like you're punching them in the face, haha!). So it's 1-2.. Elbow-Punch!
