How do you politely tell my in-laws to stop spending money on the same gifts every year that I never use?

I think my in-laws don't really know me. For nearly 15 years, every year I've gotten a different snowman platter from one in-law, candy from another (I don't eat candy), cat figurines (I have no idea) and giant, funky jewelry from my sister-in-law who loves it while I only wear my wedding ring and a watch. It's not that I want something else, I just hate seeing them spend money (the jewelry especially is somewhat expensive) on things I never, ever use. I've always said how much I love it out of politeness so I'm sure they feel that I should get more of the same next year. I've suggested that I have enough jewelry/cat figures/snowmen platters but they say, "Oh, but you can just add to your collection!" I've tried asking them not to buy anything, but they did anyway.

They have the best intentions, but I really just don't want them to waste their money. How can I tell them without hurting anyone's feelings?

Update:

Well, actually, YOU won't tell them, I will. I probably didn't phrase that question correctly. lol

There is no polite way to tell them. You might stop them in a coy way by not giving them a present in exchange and just sending them a thank you note. See if you can regift the items. Your problem is not unique and I am sure that somewhere out there is a mailman, garage attendent, receptionist that would love to have a snowman platter or cat figurine.IMHO, nothing wrong with regifting if the gift is unused and not broken. You can save alot of $ (and your closet space) by giving away unwanted presents. If you don't want to wait til next Christmas, maybe you can find friends now who won't mind getting free stuff. Happy New Year.
