help with old lawn mower. my son-in-law stored it with the handle end in the air.?
I put a new plug in , fresh gas . And yeah it is getting a good spark . I am scared the oil got in the combustion chamber. Does this mean the engine is bad ? Or was it just stored wrong ?

Yes if you store a lawnmower in a vertical position then the oil will drain into the combustion chamber. It is not a big deal though. First, drain the oil and let it set for a day. You may want to tilt the lawnmower so the oil would want to drain out of the chamber. Now pull the spark plug and check it and maybe replace it. Tilt the lawnmower so the spark plug hole is facing down. Let it set for a while and see if any more oil drains from there. Then replace the plug put new oil in and start the engine. It should work fine.

Could be the old gas has gummed up the carburetor.
Try spraying some carburetor cleaner in it and try some starting fluid.
If that doesn't work you may need to rebuild the carburetor.
